Concert Tickets...On TikTok?

You read that correctly! In August 2022, TikTok struck up a ticketing partnership with Ticketmaster to allow TikTok users to buy concert tickets from within the app. Now the companies are expanding that partnership into UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden for over 75,000 artists. Certified Artists on TikTok in those participating countries can now select Ticketmaster under the ‘Add link’ option before posting a video. They can then search for any event on Ticketmaster and then select “Add to video” to add the link. Once creators share their video, TikTok users will then see a “Get Tickets” button within the video description that directs users to buy tickets on Ticketmaster. Pretty interesting! Would you use it? You can read more here

Triple J - Trying To Capture A New Audience

Triple J recently unveiled their most played Artists of 2023 - revealing what seems to be a big disconnect between what the station is programming and how it is translating to what young people aged 18-24 are actually listening to. The list (Fred Again. Pinkpantheress, Skrillex, Maisie Peters, Flume, DMA’S, RAYE. Royel Otis, Tkay Maidza & Teenage Dads) None of these Australian artists have landed in the ARIA consumption charts in 2023, suggesting a disconnect between what is being played on radio and what is breaking through to consumers. As a result, there's some change in the air for the old JJJ -  You can read a bit more about it here
