DistroKid Launch Mobile App

If you're a band, artist, DJ or Podcaster, you're probably using a distribution service to get your product onto streaming services! With DistroKid being one of the most popular (I use this one!), it's a relief to see they've just dropped an app for iOs and Android! The app will allow people to upload their new releases, view statistics from Apple and Spotify, receive instant payment alerts, edit metadata, and more from their phones. For a $22.99 annual membership, artists are able to upload an unlimited number of songs, and keep 100% of their earnings, track their streaming stats and get notified when they have earnings. Pond Cancel US Tour Over Visa Woes

We all know it hasn't been the smoothest adjustment for bands entering back into the touring world post COVID, with things like flight costs, lack of touring vans, living expenses or cost/wait times for Visas (with the US Department of Homeland Security increasing Visa costs by 260%), it can still be a tricky thing to navigate! Well the latter has hit our mates POND hard this week, with the band having to cancel their entire US tour as frontman Nick Allbrook's Visa is still yet to be approved, over 1 year after applying. The band stated "We spent this past weekend trying to find a financially viable way to make this tour work without the shows in the US, but have been told it's not possible with the cost of freight and flights." New Ways to Stream Your DJ Set!

We have seen so many amazing DJ's streaming and recording their sets down here at the studios, so we thought we'd make it even easier for you! Attached to each light ring, you'll now find the new Rode AI-Micro! Simply plug in either the Lightning or USB-C cable in to your phone, grab the cable from under the DJ Decks, and you're away! Be sure to keep your levels below 'orange' to avoid distortion, and be sure to upload and tag us in some sets! You can read more about how to use it here

The New Music Business Podcast

Ah the music business, an ever evolving landscape to navigate. I always find it a bit easier when there is a good podcast to help! This one here was won a tonne of awards, so if you're looking to learn a bit more - I'd highly recommend checking it out! In this show, the brightest minds in the music industry are deconstructed, digging deep to find the tools, tactics, and strategies that listeners can use to run successful careers of their own. Check out this episode here on PR, and whether or not it's worth it!
