G'day Friends!

Tom Wilson, Manager of The Hen House here,
Hope you've all been doing your best to keep warm as the days and nights start to cool off!

Remember all our rooms have reverse cycle, so no matter what you'll always be toasty warm in your rooms this winter. And if that's not enough, you can warm up with a hot snag off the BBQ on a weekend.

Have a scroll down and check out some cool happenings in the music world right now!

Abbe May recently down helping with songwriting sessions!

APRA AMCOS 321 Songwriting Sessions

APRA AMCOS recently held their 321 Songwriting Sessions here, with our amazing mate Abbe May curating the whole day! 321 Sessions are open to APRA AMCOS members who have demonstrated an interest in developing their co-writing skills; with pairings based on a process involving the writer outlining their songwriting experience, genre skill-sets and instrumentation. Looked like a fantastic day with a bunch of keen musicians - if you're keen to get involved or hold one of your own - click here for more info!

WAM Song of the Year Winners

WAM recently held their Song of the Year awards on Tuesday evening - with all Perth's finest songwriters turning up in Freo to celebrate the night!
Big congrats to our mates Dulcie for taking out the Grand Prize as well as Best Pop Song, RATSALAD for best punk/hardcore, and Joan & The Giants for best rock! Well done!
You can check out the full list of winners here

New Lights in Podcast Room 7!

A gift to all our Podcasters - from us to you! We have now also upgraded the lights in Podcast Room 7 to the same specs as the lights we provide in Podcast Room 8, so if you miss out on your favourite room and want to film with some great looking visuals - you still can! You'll find 2 x (White) Dimmable LEDs and 2 x Colour LEDs, with a remote to set your themed colours for the day. For more info - simply head to our website

Grammy's Ban AI Generated Music

No surprises here, the Grammy awards have just updated their guidelines to effectively ban AI generated music. Music that “contains no human authorship” will officially be ineligible at the 2024 awards. To win one of the most significant awards of the night, the Album Of The Year, the creator – whether it’s the featured artist, credited artist, songwriter, or producer – must have contributed a minimum of 20% of the work across the release. 20% is still a pretty low bar for human contribution - so expect this to change even more! You can read more here

Well friends, that's me for this week!
Stay safe and have a yourself lovely weekend,
Tom
