G'day Friends!

Tom Wilson, Manager of The Hen House here,
Hope you've all been doing your best to keep dry during these first days of winter.

Remember, always back your car up in front of either roller door to unload! We always want our bands to keep their gear dry and out of the rai, so this winter remember to back up, drop off and park!

I've found a few watches, reads and listens for you all this week, so scroll on down and check it out.

Everyone gets a feed on a Saturday!

APRA Proposes New Distribution Split

Big news in the live performance camp! APRA is proposing a new distribution practice for promoted concerts, which would lift the rate of royalties passed on to the headliner, and reduce the cut earned by the support acts. The organisation is switching to a new 80/20 split in favour of the headliner, for those concerts in Australia and New Zealand that are licensed by APRA - currently, the split is roughly 66/33 in favour of the headline act vs. support act. Reps for APRA point out its system “is inconsistent” with the split applied by international groups, where the “overwhelming majority” of performing right organisations distribute on a basis of 90/10. You can check out more here!
