I'm sure some of you went to one of the many many events on this past weekend, there's so much happening in ol WA at the moment it's hard to keep up!

Google AI Music Generator

Is AI generated music the next big thing? Probably not. But it is interesting!
Google have developed a new software called MusicLM, which can take a text prompt (say, 'Grunge' or 'Jazz'), and flesh it out in to a full song! The interesting part comes in the fact that what it pumps out, isn't exactly terrible. I found a really interesting quiz here where you can try and guess which works are human and which are AI - I got 8/10 so the robots definitely got me a couple of times! For anyone who grew up around the Indie Rock boom of the early 2000s, you'd remember just how massive it was! Based on the book by the same name, the now documentary is an immersive journey through the game-changing New York music scene of the early ’00s, following bands like The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol and LCD Soundsystem telling the story of how a new generation of artists kick-started a musical rebirth for New York City that reverberated around the world.
