G'day Friends!

Tom Wilson, Manager of The Hen House here! Coming at you again this week with a bunch of fresh news and articles to check out, and maybe the odd show or podcast here and there!

Hope you've all been enjoying the last of a school holiday break (if you've had one), and are raring to get stuck back into some creative goals for the second half of the year.

Badlands to Close This December

Absolutely devastating news this week, with not only our favourite, but one of the best venues in WA, Badlands Bar, announcing they are set to shut their doors this December. This comes as payments for the insurance premium increased tenfold, making payments completely unviable. You can read their statement here

You may remember we started our humble little venue The Hen House Live back at Badlands when they opened in 2016, and since then they have not only been the biggest supporters of The Hen House, but also some of our best friends. To Mark, Tim and the countless other amazing staff we have worked with along the way - thank you, for the best venue and the best times.

TikTok Launches Music Streaming Service

In news surprising absolutely no one, TikTok has finally dropped their long awaited music streaming service, aptly titled TikTok Music. Although currently only available in Indonesia and Brazil, the app boasts ad-free streaming, downloadable content and a lyrics search function. Maybe another way for bands to make an extra $20 a year! You can read more about it here

New Cymbals For The Hen House Kits!

Thanks to our amazing friends at Zildjian, we have just had some fresh cymbals arrive at the studio! Always keeping our kits sounding amazing, you'll now have the option of having a set of A or K custom cymbals when you hire either of our amazing Pearl Markerworks or Crystal Beat kits! Your jams will have never sounded so good. And remember, we still do solo rehearsals for drummers for just $75, so if you want to get on a great sounding kit for a bit - get in touch!

Spilt Milk Fest Announces Perth Date

It seems the amount of festivals in WA has been getting smaller and smaller each year, so it's great to see Spilt Milk make it's way over to WA in December! Head down to Claremont Showground and you can catch heavyweights Post Malone & Dom Dolla, along with some of our local mates Dulcie & SammyTheSinner, as well as our east coast friends Redhook!
