This years WAM awards and nominees have just been announced! Held next Tuesday at The Astor Theatre, the awards celebrate both the excellence and resilience of WA artists and industry over the past 2 years! Congrats to our mates Death By Denim, Bexx, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Tim Nelson, Ghost Care, Legs Electric, New Talk, Pat Chow, plus to all the other amazing acts! Check out the full list here

WAMfest - Next Weekend November 5!

WAM’s annual WAMFest returns on Saturday 5th November 2022 to the Perth Cultural Centre and Yagan Square, featuring a whopping line-up of over 160 of WA's most exciting, diverse and progressive contemporary musicians taking over venues and stages across Northbridge and Scarborough.

Be sure to check out the full line up and venue list here and get down to support some WA acts - for free!

Hacker Who Stole Music Gets Jail time

I've only just heard about this, but a British hacker has just been sentenced to 18 months jail time for hacking the cloud services of artists such as Ed Sheeran and Lil Uzi Vert, and selling their music in exchange for Bitcoin on the dark web. He released and sold their unreleased music, and made a total of $150,000 US. A tip for bands - keep a physical hard drive on you, or two! You can read more about it here

Parkway Drive Australian Story

If you haven't had a chance to check this out, I highly recommend you do! No stranger to documentaries (this being their 4th), Parkway Drive teamed up with the ABC for a short Australian Story, and it's a must watch for all aspiring bands and artists! The band (now 21 years into its existence) reached the highest of highs - and ended up having to go to group therapy to mend their relationships and keep the band alive. Super inspiring stuff - read about it here and check it out on YouTube!

Well friends, that's me for this week!
Keep doing your best to support local bands, businesses and artists!
Stay healthy & safe and have a great weekend

Tom
