G'day Friends!

Tom Wilson, Manager of The Hen House here, hoping you're keeping well.

Back again this week with a few good reads for all my mates. It's shaping up to be a pretty busy summer down here at The Hen House with a few exiting things planned for November and December, so keep your eyes peeled to these mailouts to hear it all first!

Scroll on down and check out what I've rounded up this week.

Our good buds The Temper Trap swung by last week for a quick pre-festival polish!

Loudmouth Records Gig Guide - Punk, Hardcore & Metal

A handy gig guide never goes astray! Our good mates at Loudmouth Records have a killer tab on their website where you can find all the local punk, hardcore and metal shows that are going down, the flyer, and a link to grab tickets! If you know what you like and you're looking to get out and enjoy it, click here and check out their website. No better time to go have a mosh!

Sound on Sound - Free Reads for Sound Engineers!

If you haven't checked out the Sound on Sound website before, I highly recommend it. You'll find access to great articles, news on the latest gear, and also a few handy tips and tricks along the way! I always have a quick scope as you can occasionally get free access to an issue of the magazine - which is super handy. Click here and you can grab a copy of the October issue and learn a thing or two about a thing or two!

Spotify Dish Out Free Audiobooks

Spotify has been going pretty hard recently, rolling out the DJ feature, then Daylist features, and now users with a paid Spotify subscription get access to 15 hours worth of Audiobooks per month for free, with access to over 150,000 books. Audiobooks have been available for purchase on the app for a while now, however if you're on that premium life, why not listen to a free book every month! You can read more about it here

The Best Free DAW's (2023 Update)

We all know the cost of living is a bit steep right now, and so maybe you're wanting to try a new DAW that won't cost you any money! And with so many out there, it can be hard to filter through which one will be right for you. Is it Pro Tools First? Garageband? Reaper?? Check out this great article here and try a new (and free) DAW!

Well friends, that's me for this week!
Stay safe and have a yourself lovely weekend,
Tom
