WAM Nominations for 2023

The annual WAM awards are coming up this November 16th and the list of nominees has just been unveiled! Congratulations to all of our good mates below who scored a nomination, we're super lucky to have so many talented local artists swinging through the building.

APRA AMCOS - Year In Report

APRA AMCOS recently published their Year in Report for 22/23, unveiling some big changes that have taken place in the Aus music landscape. The good news? A record revenue of $690.5m, major concerts and festivals had seen revenue jump 400% in the first entire post-pandemic financial year, and net distributable income (royalties etc) leapt up 11% to $595.2 million. The bad news? Since the pandemic, Aus lost over 1,300 live music venues and stages across the country (1/3 fewer medium/small venues than before!) The situation is bleak in nightclubs – crowds have halved since pre-pandemic times, with annual attendance dipping to 1.6 million from over 2.8 million in 2019. You can read more about it here

Thanks to a lovely bandmate of mine, I recently discovered Matt Bacon's instagram, which is am extremely deep wealth of knowledge and advice for bands and artists! Matt has worked with acts like Killswitch Engage, Lorna Shore, JPEGMafia, & Dillon Francis to name a few - and he shares his advice and tips in some extremely handy instagram videos!
