G'day Friends!

BIGSOUND Speakers Announced

The second round of speakers have dropped for this year’s BIGSOUND conference, which returns to Brisbane this September 5-8.

Joining the lineup is Simon Napier-Bell (the former manager of Wham!) and Simon Franglen (acclaimed composer best known for his work on the Avatar films, as well as with Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Barbra Streisand and Quincy Jones). Already announced are Andy Kalyvas (Netflix), Michelle Ronzon (Interscope), Hazel Savage (Soundcloud) and Vanessa Palmer (Paramount). You can read more about the big event here!

Contemporary Music Fund Grants

Attention artists and industry professionals! Funding is now available through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries' Contemporary Music Fund Short Notice Activity Program.
It's a grant program that supports short notice opportunities for individuals, bands and music industry professionals, and if you have international touring or showcasing opportunities coming up, you can apply for up to $15,000. Applications to the CMF SNAP are open until 7 December 2023. For more information, click here!

Vinyl Cafe Re Opens

As we lose Badlands to the list of Perth Music Hubs that will close - it's great to see our mates at Vinyl Cafe in Leederville opening up into a brand new, bigger and better spot. Always known for hosting vinyl cutting classes, small punk shows, songwriters clubs, jazz nights, album release parties and so much more - it's great to see them make an even better spot to continue propagating the Perth music scene.
